Stories About Women

When you are writing about women, give them strength and grace. Show that they can overcome.

You may have noticed this - my first three novels are about women and the predicaments they find themselves in. My first nonfiction book released this month (November) is about women and for women. Women's issues are very important to me. It is unfortunate that so many of us find ourselves in situations where we have to fight - to be seen, to be heard, to be respected, to be equal.

“It is important to see women being heard and making a positive impact on society."

The protagonists from my first three novels - Jackie, Licia and Marie - all have their particular challenges and they deal with them in the best way they know how based on their individual circumstances. The overall obstacle they all face is being taken advantage of. Men, businesses and life always try to pull a fast one on women, and if we are not strong enough, they succeed. That's why it is so important that books tell stories of strong women so others who are experiencing challenges can be inspired to be strong. That's why it is so important for women especially young girls to see other women being heard and making a positive impact on society.

So when you write about women, show their strength but also show their vulnerabilities and struggles. Those experiences are exactly where women draw their strength from.
